Our aim is to foster candidates’ intellectual, ethical and spiritual life to enable them to become effective leaders in the community.  


MASTERS Scholarships

Selection Criteria will be based on the following:

  • Show proven academic ability, supported by appropriate references;

  • Demonstrate achievements in other field(s) and the energy to use their talents to the full as exemplified by contribution to the community and organisations to which they belong; and

  • Be of excellent character and have a commitment to ethical leadership.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online by a selection panel chosen by Cambridge Australia Scholarships.


Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Meet with members of Cambridge Australia Scholarships, and donors, prior to leaving for Cambridge;

  • Keep Cambridge Australia Scholarships informed about their academic and other activities at the end of each term and on completion of their course; and

  • Allow Cambridge Australia Scholarships to publicise their achievements as scholars.


International students are not eligible.

To apply, applicants do not need to have fully completed their undergraduate studies, but must be near completion, e.g. one to two semesters remaining.  If your application is successful you will be issued with a conditional offer that depends on your successful completion of an undergraduate degree. Your degree must be completed before you can commence studies at University of Cambridge.


National scholarships

  • The Davis McCaughey award/s are tenable only at Pembroke College.

    The Davis McCaughey Cambridge Australia Scholarship is partly funded by donations from Australian alumni of Pembroke College in honour and memory of John Davis McCaughey AC, a Bible scholar, Christian minister, university administrator and the Governor of Victoria from 1986 to 1992.

    The award is given in collaboration with Cambridge Australia Scholarships (CAS), the Cambridge Trust and Pembroke College.

    Davis McCaughey Cambridge Australia Scholarship(s) may cover both full and/or half of the costs associated with coursework Masters degrees (except MBA) and are available to applicants Australia wide.

  • Cambridge Australia Scholarships offers two Allen Scholarships for Masters students.

    The Cambridge Australia Allen Scholarship is partly funded by and named in honour of Mr D Charles K Allen AO, MA (Cantab), MSc, DIC, Hon LLD (Monash), FTSE.

    The Allen STEM scholarship covers one full scholarship for a Masters STEM subject;

    The Allen Masters award is a half scholarship. The scholarships covers half the costs associated with coursework Masters degrees (except MBA)

    The Allen Scholarships are available to applicants Australia wide.

    The Cambridge Australia Allen Scholarships have a preference for Corpus Christi College.

    Corpus is unique amongst Cambridge colleges. Not only do they have both an old central site and a separate postgraduate research campus – Leckhampton – but more than 40% of the Corpus Christi student body consists of graduates.

    About 100 postgraduates live in and around Leckhampton, along with Fellows and academic visitors.

    The graduate community of Corpus Christi embraces a full range of scholarship – arts, humanities, social studies, sciences and technology. And it’s truly international. Out of those starting new graduate courses in October 2022, 43% come from the UK, and 57% are international students.

    Most study for a PhD or an MPhil degree. They also have a group of MASt students in Mathematics and Physics as well as a successful community of LLM and MCL students.

State based scholarships

  • The Patrick Moore Cambridge Australia Scholarship(s) cover half the costs associated with the coursework Masters degrees (except MBA) and is available to Victorian applicants.

    Due to the generosity of Mr Patrick Moore, Cambridge Australia Scholarships offers half-scholarships for applicants who are Australian citizens and have graduated from a Victorian university OR are Australian citizens born in Victoria, to study for Masters degrees (except the Master of Business Administration) at Cambridge. 

    Each scholarship is tenable for one year and covers one half of the total costs (University fees, College fees and maintenance) associated with a coursework Masters degree.

    These half-scholarships are designed to encourage candidates to co-fund their studies—e.g., with funding from other scholarships; prior employment income; or sponsorship from business, clubs or family and friends.

  • Please note that this scholarship is currently not open to new applicants

    The Cambridge Australia Erich Narev Scholarship is available to NSW residents and/or graduates of a NSW university, to study for a Masters degree (except MBA) at Cambridge.

    The Erich Narev Scholarship may be awarded in preference to candidates wishing to study mathematics, a science or human rights. Consideration will also be given to candidates personal circumstances, where some kind of disadvantage (past or present) exists. Candidates who wish to have the selection committee consider matters relevant to disadvantage should provide a personal statement setting out, in confidence, relevant details to the CAS Executive Officer. The Erich Narev scholarship is a full scholarship.

    Generally, the aim of the scholarships is to foster a candidate's intellectual, ethical and spiritual life to enable them to become effective leaders in the community. Scholarships are tenable for one year.

  • The Cambridge Australia Frank Downing Scholarship covers half of the cost associated with coursework Masters degrees (except MBA) and are available to Western Australian applicants.

    Note: This scholarship may be awarded in preference for study in law.  

    Due to the generosity of the Downing Family, Mr Christopher K G Rowe, Members of HWL Ebsworth (previously Downing and Downing) and members of the WA legal and business communities - Cambridge Australia Scholarships offers this half-scholarship for applicants who are Australian citizens and have either graduated from a Western Australian university OR were born in WA, to study for a  Masters degree (except the Master of Business Administration) at Cambridge.
